Parallel XPath Research

I completed my Masters Thesis in 2012 and the topic was on the parallel execution of XPath queries over large XML documents.  It is available at: Parallel XPath Thesis.

The goal behind the research is to reduce single-query latency for XPath queries over in-memory (“DOM”) trees of XML data.  To accomplish this, we propose several different parallel query engines with different characteristics.

We have since continued the research and have obtained some significant new results using a novel approach.  The new research is contained in a conference submission and is currently under review.
